Review:

An ‘unhinged’ fae king and a professional gamer (human) girl? Sign. Me. Up.

Gena crafts the most intriguing, beautiful and darkly whimsical paranormal romances; and Heartless is another genius tale to add to her list of works. From the very first page, I was hooked. This book has it all – incredible fantasy world, steamy romance, blood-thirsty monsters, battles to the death, a centuries-old mystery, and more.

The hero in this story gave me strong antihero vibes. He’s dark, dangerous and bloodthirsty but I was absolutely still rooting for him to win the girl and live happily ever after. In that same respect, the heroine is such a great match for his personality traits that she borders on being an antiheroine herself. Using her kickass gamer skills and strange familiarity of the mythical lands, she’s ready to strike at anyone and anything that could potentially threaten her new home and her man.

All in all, this was a great read. There are several characters who I feel are going to get amazing stories as this series progresses and I cannot wait to see how their development continues.
