Book Mail from Bookish Friends

Recently, my lovely friend Ang aka PNR Book Lover Reviews sent me some book mail containing an assortment of books, bookmarks, a crochet book sleeve, wax melts and an art print. The pack was part of a giveaway prize pack for three lucky winners to celebrate reaching 5000 followers on her bookstagram! An amazing achievement and if you aren’t already following her, go check out her account now! She has great reading taste, gives awesome book recs and is the queen of all things written by Nora Roberts.

The books sent showcase a variety of romance sub-genres and I’m so looking forward to delving into them. See below for a little about each book:

Blow Out – Jackson Kane (Steel Veins #1)
Blow Out, a motorcycle romance set in the Steel Veins Motorcycle Club, is filled with heat, nail-biting violence, and heart-racing adventure.

She should never have stayed.
I should never have kept her.

Bad guys like me? We crave violence, danger, and someone warm in our beds.
Someone like her? She is beautiful and surprisingly strong.

But saving her was a mistake for both of us. It would have been easier if I’d let my MC kill her when they were getting revenge on her uncle.

Now it’s too late.
I don’t want sympathy or forgiveness.
I just want her.

The Art of Losing – Rebecca Connell

Haunted by childhood loss, 23-year old Louise takes on her late mother’s name and sets out to find Nicholas, the man she has always held responsible for her death.

Now a middle-aged lecturer, husband and father, Nicholas has nevertheless been unable to shake of the events of his past, when he and Louise’s mother has a clandestine, destructive and ultimately tragic affair.

As Louise infiltrates his life and the lives of his family, she forms close and intimate relationships with both his son and his wife, but her true identity remains unknown to Nicholas himself.

Tensions grow and outward appearances begin to crack, as Louise and Nicholas both discover painful truths about their own lives, each other, and the woman they both loved.

Undeniable Attraction – JB Heller (Attraction #1)

Ivy is straightlaced, orderly and responsible. She’s also in love with her boss, Gabe.

When Ivy started working for him at his private investigation firm three years ago she was instantly drawn to him.

He’s everything she’s not and everything she wants— rough, gritty, sexy and impulsive.
Ivy decides to make some changes in order to gain Gabe’s attention, but in doing so, she inadvertently draws the eye of an unwanted admirer.

Gabe is forced to take her and her rambunctious cousin, Tessa, into his home for their protection. But with Ivy in such close quarters Gabe’s resolve to stay away from the once shy beauty begins to dissolve at a rapid pace.

Back to You – CJ Miranda

Four years after the most confusing summer of her life, recent college graduate Iris Tilley is moving back home with no idea of the repercussions waiting to greet her. Going home means reconnecting with her dad, facing her motherless home, and confronting her gorgeous neighbor, Weston Alcorn.

And all of this, unfortunately, has to be done in a small southern town where gossip is a prized currency.

As the summer forges on, Iris struggles to find her place in a town that’s changed as much as it’s stayed the same, and it doesn’t help that Weston doesn’t seem to know how to treat her. Through awkward encounters, tense conversations, and heartbreaking revelations, neither Weston nor Iris can ignore the spark they ignited four years prior. But as Iris’s past and the prospect of her future violently clash, it’s no longer a question of can they ignore it, but will they have the chance?

The Road to Hell – Jackie Kessler (Hell on Earth #2)

In Jackie Kessler’s debut novel Hell’s Belles, she introduced readers to Jesse Harris, a succubus-turned-human with a tart tongue, a way with a g-string, and a soft spot for sexy undercover cop Paul Hamilton. Now Jesse’s back, and where she goes, Hell is sure to follow…

There’s nothing worse than a demon with a grudge.

Jesse may no longer be a soul-stealing succubus, but she’s got a Hell of a past. She’d love to come clean to her sweet, super-hot boyfriend Paul, but how exactly does a girl start that conversation? There’s no name tag that reads: “I Used to Have Sex with Men before Taking Their Souls to the Lake of Fire–Ask Me How!”

Just like some people are worth being monogamous for (shudder), some secrets are worth keeping.

Like the fact that bad boy incubus Daunuan keeps popping up from the Underworld to put some toe-curling moves on her; that her former associates are trying to strong-arm her back into the fold; and that every supernatural entity on the planet seems to want to have a conversation with her in the bathroom.

But someone in the Underworld isn’t ready to play nice (go figure), and this time, the stakes are nothing less than Paul’s immortal soul. If Hell wants Jesse back so badly, they’ve got her. But payback’s a bitch, and this bitch is about to rock Hell like a hurricane–or lose her soul trying…

A Spoonful of Magic – Irene Radford

Daphne “Daffy” Rose Wallace Deschants has an ideal suburban life–three wonderful and talented children; a coffee shop and bakery, owned and run with her best friend; a nearly perfect husband, Gabriel, or “G” to his friends and family. Life could hardly be better.

But G’s perfection hides dangerous secrets. When Daffy uncovers evidence of his infidelity, her perfect life seems to be in ruins. On their wedding anniversary, Daffy prepares to confront him, only to be stopped in her tracks when he foils a mugging attempt using wizard-level magic.

Suddenly, Daphne is part of a world she never imagined–where her husband is not a traveling troubleshooter for a software company, but the sheriff of the International Guild of Wizards, and her brilliant children are also budding magicians. Even she herself is not just a great baker and barista–she’s actually a kitchen witch. And her discovery of her powers is only just beginnning.

But even the midst of her chaotic new life, another problem is brewing. G’s ex-wife, a dangerous witch, has escaped from her magical prison. Revenge-bent and blind, she needs the eyes of her son to restore her sight–the son Daffy has raised as her own since he was a year old. Now Daphne must find a way to harness her new powers and protect her family–or risk losing everything she holds dear.

The Bunny and the Billionaire – Louisa Masters

Hardworking Australian nurse Ben Adams inherits a substantial sum and decides to tour Europe. In Monaco, the home of glamour and the idle rich, he meets French billionaire playboy Léo Artois. After getting off on the wrong foot—as happens when one accuses a stranger of being part of the Albanian mafia—their attraction blazes. Léo, born to the top tier of society, has never known limits, and Ben, used to budgeting every cent, finds it difficult to adjust to not only Léo’s world, but also the changes wealth brings to his own life.

As they make allowances for each other’s foibles, Ben gradually appreciates the finer things, and Léo widens his perspective. They both know one thing: this is not a typical holiday romance and they’re not ready to say goodbye.
