I love Malpas’ writing style and really enjoyed the overall story of The Gentleman Sinner. It gave enough of a dark romance to keep me intrigued without being over the top; though I should mention that as much as I love an alpha male, I paused at one or two scenes (eg. following her overseas on her girls holidays).
The secrets and mysterious backgrounds alluded to throughout the story weren’t shocking in the least when finally revealed but I actually found a comfort in that. I think if they had been a huge, unbelievable shock then it would have been exactly that, unbelievable, and distracted too much from the storyline. The ending was incredibly sweet and a perfect fit for Izzy and Theo, leaving me looking forward to reading more from this author.
